A commemoration of the 100th Anniversary of the Tulsa Race Massacre. Woodbury Public Library is pleased to share this program in preparation for New York State’s first official recognition of Juneteenth as a State holiday, having been signed into law by the Governor in October 2020. A panel discussion will explore the development of the city of Tulsa’s Greenwood District, the events which led to its Black residents being the target of racially motivated violence, as well as the aftermath that highlights the community’s resilience and regrowth.
